Catrin Gockel designs and produces bags outside the realm of mass manufacturing
Catrin Gockel is drawn to thoughtful design and the craft behind it. The seed for her own label was planted during her interior design studies in Wismar – the native of Essen was captivated by how materials, colors, and proportions work together, inspiring her to build a career around these passions. In 2014, she founded Zacamo. Today, her studio produces bespoke bags and accessories entirely removed from mass production. She hand-tailors most pieces herself, and she's equally passionate about developing new designs that experiment with different materials.
The newest addition to the collection is a corduroy half-moon bag – crafted almost entirely from natural materials, with plastic and synthetics deliberately excluded. Zacamo's corduroy fabrics are 100% cotton, produced by a family-run manufacturer in Germany. The half-moon bag offers generous storage for water bottles, phones, wallets, and snacks. The label's laptop bags feature soft cotton linings and a subtle rear pocket, available in two sizes to fit virtually any laptop.
