Innovation Meets Sustainability
Munich-based manufacturer WYE creates furniture from a proprietary wood composite developed entirely in-house
Sleek, minimalist design meets remarkable sustainability: Franziskus Wozniak and Ferdinand Krämer craft their furniture with resource efficiency, pioneering a circular economy model that allows each piece to be endlessly reclaimed and reimagined. Before creating their signature material, Neolign, the two designers tested numerous options to perfect the formula for the |chamfer| collection. What they developed is groundbreaking—Neolign emerges as a by-product of industrial wood processing, composed of 83 percent wood chips blended with specially formulated color pastes and polymers. The result: no trees felled, no harmful emissions, and exceptional performance. Unlike conventional veneers and chipboard, this material delivers superior stability, weather resistance, and durability.
Once a piece has lived its life, the story doesn't end—it begins anew. Wozniak and Krämer take back their creations, reintegrating the material into production cycles that span multiple decades. The |chamfer| series epitomizes microliving design: radically minimal, infinitely adaptable. The stools function as seating, side tables, storage, or step aids. The bench, dimensioned for tight urban spaces—narrow hallways, compact kitchens, and snug alcoves—transitions seamlessly between seating, coat rack, and storage solution.
