Industrial designer Alexander Klein believes in the power of functionality, aesthetics, and humor in creating products, furniture, and spatial designs. After earning his degree in Industrial Design from Stuttgart's State Academy of Fine Arts and ENSCI – Les Ateliers in Paris, Klein founded Studio Creative Underdogs in 2018. Today, the 30-year-old and his team craft innovative products and interior solutions for an international clientele. Their design philosophy is straightforward: let the function drive the form. Klein begins each project with sketches, translates these into detailed 3D computer visualizations, and then tests prototypes to refine proportions and functionality—a cycle he repeats until the team is satisfied. His creative fuel comes from unexpected places: skateboarding through city streets, wandering museum corridors, lingering in cafés. In the Kornwestheim workshop, these explorations have yielded remarkable pieces. The Big Foot Glass Sidetable showcases this approach—a side table crafted from precisely angled wooden tubes supporting a clean glass surface. The Ice Cream Barstool, fashioned from recycled plastic, playfully mimics melting ice cream. Yalla_55 takes a different approach with its elegant steel wire frame and stainless steel fixtures anchoring a glass top. Its exceptional stability makes it equally at home in private residences, hotel lobbies, or waiting areas. The frame comes in multiple colors, while the top is available in glass, marble, metal, or plastic.
