Product designer Wolfgang A. Lüchow and lighting designer Andreas Macke met during their studies at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Hildesheim, founding qbik design in 2011. From their Stuttgart-based studio, they specialize in product design, lighting planning, and custom lighting solutions. Lüchow leads product development and design, while Macke directs all lighting concepts. Their collaborative approach is user-centric: every product delivers tangible value in real-world use. Where others offer standard solutions, they craft individually tailored lighting designs that truly fit each space.

Lüchow and Macke employ 3D-printed prototypes throughout their design and production process, enabling full-scale testing of every concept and precise refinement of ergonomics, form, and function. Their Bad Cannstatt studio has produced several standout pieces, including their side tables—designed with frames fashioned from a single, unbroken steel strand. Clean, sculptural table legs are paired with tops available in various wood finishes, making the tables equally at home in private residences or public settings. The magazine rack bender brings order and accessibility, drawing inspiration from classic filing systems. Crafted from laser-cut and precisely folded sheet steel, it keeps publications within easy reach.
