Perfect Symbiosis
Berlin interior designer creates lifestyle apartment in the Hafenpark Quartier
Award-winning interior designer Fabian Freytag has created a distinctive design concept for the show apartment in the "Living" residential project at Hafenpark Quartier (HPQ): international design sensibilities, art, and sweeping views of the Frankfurt skyline – all crafted across 120 m² on the 11th floor. This exclusive suite embodies the artistic vision of the quarter itself, whose iconic architecture by internationally acclaimed designer Hadi Teherani is already reshaping Frankfurt's skyline.
The apartment masterfully blends contrasting styles: vintage alongside contemporary design. Warm, elegant tones of yellow and gold define the living space, offset by a striking black kitchen anchored by a "Cherry Red" marble island. Exposed concrete walls dialogue with the warm, harmonious palette and brushed gold metal surfaces of cabinetry that flows throughout the space. These golden finishes serve a dual purpose – they're far more than decorative. They reflect the surrounding environment and shifting light, infusing each room with warmth and dynamism. The effect evolves throughout the day, revealing new dimensions with every change in light and perspective. Hand-painted walls by Fabian Freytag in the hallway add another layer of individuality. Vintage furnishings provide an intentional counterpoint to the architectural bones, while a walnut bar element adjacent to the loggia – sourced from Fabian Freytag's own collection – ties the entire concept together. The bathrooms strike a compelling balance: premium glazed tiles in blue and white, brushed metalwork in warm gold tones, and ceramic surfaces that ground the design.
