Furniture for Life
Fromme & Blum is a label built on restrained design and timeless quality.
In 2016, Ricky Fromme and Jo Blum established Fromme & Blum, setting up their studio in Charlottenburg. The product designer and communication designer partnership prioritizes clean lines, timeless aesthetics, and exceptional longevity. Every piece is crafted exclusively from locally sourced solid wood, harvested through ecologically responsible and socially conscious forestry practices. Rather than conventional varnishes, the studio employs traditional hand-applied surface finishes enhanced with natural oils. Steel components are meticulously hand-welded and protected with eco-friendly powder coating to resist corrosion.
The Fromme & Blum collection features the "Sweet Samurai" series, a dining table available in multiple configurations that can accommodate a 3-metre tabletop at its largest. Choose from beech, maple, wild oak, cherry, or walnut surfaces paired with steel legs in a range of finishes. The series extends to complementary chairs, stools, and benches. For compact workspaces, the "Sweet Work" desk makes minimal demands on floor space, whether positioned centrally or against a wall. The two-tiered design accommodates a laptop below with additional storage above. Available in two sizes, the Sweet Work standing stool encourages postural variation and spinal health—equally suited for leaning or sitting. Like the desk, it combines regional solid wood with powder-coated steel for lasting durability.
