Crafted with Care

Lena Goehner designs and produces sustainable products at Lake Starnberg

Lena Goehner studied industrial design at Munich University of Applied Sciences. After graduation, she worked in architecture firms and design studios before launching her own label, Werkvoll, at Lake Starnberg in 2012. Within her in-house workshop, she designs and creates products that balance sustainability and durability with contemporary design—merging utility with aesthetics. Every material is thoughtfully selected and calibrated to serve both form and function.

These aren't mass-produced commodities—they're designer pieces, handcrafted regionally in small batches under ethical conditions. Only certified, toxin-free materials sourced domestically make the cut, eliminating unnecessary shipping distances. Among Werkvoll's collection is the Firelight series: a range of lights built on refined cylindrical forms that command immediate recognition. The secret? Decommissioned fire extinguishers and gas cylinders that Goehner has rescued from disposal. Repurposed with intention, they now shine as striking focal points in kitchens, dining rooms, living spaces, and offices. Available in varied finishes and cord colors, the collection features both pendant and table versions—all meticulously handmade. The table lamp rests on a weighted base for optimal stability. Powered by energy-efficient GU10 LED bulbs, the recycled aluminum casing casts a warm, inviting glow that can be precisely directed via the lamp head's swivel and tilt mechanisms, adapting effortlessly to task or reading light.
