Geometric and Vibrant
The furniture and spatial concepts by Sina Gwosdzik and Jakob Dannenfeldt infuse spaces with joy and color.
It all began with furniture designed for children. In 2009, product designers Sina Gwosdzik and Jakob Dannenfeldt launched their label "Jäll & Tofta" in Berlin Kreuzberg. The duo first crossed paths during their studies at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam. They named their label after Jälluntofta, a village in Smaland, Sweden – drawn to its distinctive sound, they adapted it slightly for their brand. While children's furniture remains close to their hearts (their own two sons serve as creative inspiration), Jäll & Töfta has evolved to specialize in bespoke furniture and comprehensive spatial solutions for residential and commercial interiors. Color is woven into every design they create. For Gwosdzik and Dannenfeldt, there's no such thing as too much color – only poorly paired combinations. Their work is defined by vibrant furnishings and bold geometric forms, coupled with a fearless approach to material mixing. Alongside wood, they introduce seemingly contradictory materials – mirror glass, recycled plastics, engineered stone, and marble – creating visual tension and complexity. Beyond the cheerful atmospheres their pieces cultivate, the designers prioritize function. Every design prioritizes real-world usability, whether it's the striking green bar counter for a Berlin matcha bar, custom cabinetry, or fully designed kitchens.
