Innovative Lighting Solutions for Open-Plan Offices

Efficient, sustainable, and economical

Preserving the heritage 1950s building of Evangelische Bank within its existing architectural context, this landmark structure has been comprehensively modernized and sustainably renovated. The redesigned interior showcases contemporary open-office design at its finest: expansive, uninterrupted work surfaces foster the collaborative and agile working methods essential in today's digital workplace, while breaking down organizational silos. The layout thoughtfully incorporates quiet zones with seating and café areas, dedicated meeting rooms, and acoustically insulated retreats—ensuring employees have spaces for both connection and focus. These innovative work environments are purpose-built for modern, digitally-integrated, customer-centered banking. The vision is fully realized through cutting-edge energy-efficient systems and a sophisticated lighting design that seamlessly merges illumination with acoustic performance.

The new building commands attention not merely for its architectural merit, but equally for its demonstrated sustainability. Energy performance reaches the highest sustainability standards. The thoughtful selection of natural materials—timber and sandstone—reinforces the building's commitment to sustainability, authentically reflecting the values of Evangelische Bank. In the lighting design and execution, Sattler maintained this same rigor, balancing efficiency with cost-effectiveness throughout. The lighting strategy itself takes a holistic approach: a harmonious, multifunctional solution that strengthens the modernized architectural language both externally and within, while cultivating an inviting atmosphere for clients and staff alike.

The architectural clarity extends to the lighting design, which features a continuous light strip running along the façade. Inside, the conference room showcases linear lighting elements integrated into the concrete structure, complemented by circular light ceilings. The office areas employ recessed lighting fixtures that establish an atmosphere supporting deep focus and concentrated work, while baffle luminaires ingeniously unify light, acoustics, and sensor functionality.
