Green Headquarters
bmp greengas transformed its office space into a "heartquarter" through an innovative New Work concept
With its team growing rapidly and space becoming tight at Munich's Theresienhöhe, bmp greengas—a leader in biomethane and green gas solutions for over 14 years—underwent a complete office redesign. Traditional single and double offices gave way to a modern open environment: a flexible workspace designed for focused individual work, collaborative co-creation, teamwork, and meetings all in one thoughtfully planned landscape.
Designed by New Work specialists at Colliers, the headquarters now radiates with fresh orange, blue, and green tones, complemented by natural wood and living plant walls—creating a "heartquarter" where employees thrive and work with genuine energy. Every design choice reinforces the company's sustainability mission: from green-shaded lamps and cloud-like light installations hovering above conference tables to moss wall panels and room dividers bursting with real plants. The overall aesthetic remains calm and refined—clean whites form the foundation, allowing natural wood elements and abundant greenery to take center stage. "As digital tools and remote work reshape how we work, we knew even before the pandemic that we needed an entirely new office model," explains Manuela Hotop, project lead at bmp. Working with André Nagel, Head of Architecture & Workplace Consulting at Colliers Munich, the team began with comprehensive workshops and employee surveys across IT, marketing, product management, strategy, HR, and sales—each input shaping a clear vision: transform the office from a mere workplace into a dynamic hub for connection and collaboration. Custom room modules, thoughtfully coordinated color palettes, and strategic acoustic solutions using plant-integrated dividers, glass, and slat elements—all aligned with bmp greengas' brand identity and values—brought this vision to life. With support from furnishing partner feco-feederle and meticulous project oversight by interior architect Dirk Fornfett, the team maximized every resource on a lean budget. The result is a future-ready workspace that will serve the growing team for years to come.
