Taking Bold Steps Together
Expansive open space defines the shared headquarters of two connected companies.
Where do employees of a real estate company and energy systems provider actually work? EGK Bau & Service answers that question with its striking new headquarters in Lövenich—a space where three previously separate offices now operate as one. Conceived entirely in-house by architect Julian Huth's design team and realized in partnership with Climalevel Energiesysteme, their co-tenant and construction partner, the building strikes an impressive balance between openness and purpose. Interior designers Brandherm + Krumrey have infused generous, flowing spaces throughout, creating an atmosphere that echoes the elegance of a refined hotel lobby. The expansive south-facing terrace anchors the building as its natural gathering point.
The building's curved form does more than welcome—it traces the sun's arc and maximizes natural daylight throughout the day. Oversized windows and doors, framed in sleek aluminium, amplify this effect while the extensive glazing infuses the structure with lightness and visual transparency. The exposed concrete surfaces speak an honest architectural language, while a striking Corten steel-clad wing pushes forward from the façade, injecting warmth and movement that counterbalances the severity of the raw grey concrete.
The three-storey building showcases intelligent climate innovation. Climalevel has positioned its new headquarters as a living laboratory for the Multiboden HKL system—an integrated solution that handles heating, cooling, and ventilation in one. This responsive, high-efficiency system maintains optimal comfort year-round. While supplementary spaces rely on conventional fresh air intake through windows, the entire building—including the industrial halls—benefits from radiant floor heating paired with summer cooling capability. The result is consistently pleasant temperatures throughout the year, everywhere.
