Packaging-free shopping is here to stay.

Today, zero-waste shopping is within reach in nearly every major city.

Packaging-free shopping is booming—and the numbers prove it. Since 2014, over 100 zero-waste shops have opened across Germany, tapping into growing public demand for plastic-free alternatives. The momentum continues: Unverpackt Düsseldorf is the third location to embrace this model, strategically placed in the city's heart. Studio Konture designed the space, where founders Eva Wenndorf and Björn Amend curate roughly 700 products across 100 m² of retail space—97 percent sourced organically. From fresh produce and pantry staples to baking essentials and laundry detergent, they stock virtually everything you need, minus the packaging. The concept is refreshingly straightforward: bring your container, fill it, pay, and leave. Beyond the essentials, the shop distinguishes itself with an impressive selection of hygiene and personal care items, thoughtfully sourced zero-waste products, and an intimate café tucked inside—details that elevate the shopping experience.
