In Love with Concrete

Fiona Kreutz-Buchner and Sonja Reuber design bespoke furniture and accessories

Fiona Kreutz-Buchner and Sonja Reuber share an uncommon passion: a deep love of concrete. In 2019, these two Cologne-based designers transformed that passion into a profession, founding their label beau béton. Since then, their Zollstock workshop has been producing bespoke tables, seating, sideboards, vanities, and accessories in concrete and steel. Each piece is handcrafted and entirely unique—from the concrete slabs themselves to the finished products, which embody a timeless, minimalist aesthetic. To achieve this, Kreutz-Buchner and Reuber developed a proprietary concrete formula: using special pigments, they move beyond standard concrete grey to create subtle variations in surface color. Clients can also commission custom finishes tailored to their vision. Built to last, these furnishings perform equally well indoors or out.

The collection includes a versatile side table that doubles as a stool, with a 40 x 40 cm top and steel legs available in various finishes. A matching concrete dining table complements it—lengths range from 160 to 200 cm, with a steel frame. For entryways, the narrow sideboard proves particularly striking: measuring 100 x 90 x 25 cm, it provides essential storage for everyday essentials like keys and bags. To experience these custom pieces firsthand, visit the showroom, located directly adjacent to the workshop at Herthastraße 32 in Zollstock.
