Stay and Beyond

A timeless design hotel at Potsdamer Platz that constantly reinvents the guest experience

Since opening in May, Berlin's newest aletto hotel stands out for its forward-thinking design. Nestled near Potsdamer Platz, this property showcases a 360-degree hybrid concept: timeless guest rooms, Italian-inspired cuisine, and a constantly evolving experience. The secret lies in its pop-up station—a flexible exhibition space that invites companies, brands, and creative minds to showcase new products and innovations to guests. "The lobby concept was intentionally designed to be multifunctional," explains Bernd Andersen, Regional Sales Manager North at Vitra, a key partner behind the building's cohesive modern aesthetic. Inspired by Bauhaus principles and executed throughout with clarity and precision, the design seamlessly balances striking functionality with remarkable adaptability.

The multi-lane rail and shelving system winding through the public spaces exemplifies this flexibility—dividing and reshaping areas on demand. Equally impressive is the building's intelligent automation system. Guests and staff can manage everything from PCs, smartphones, and tablets: roll-down doors, sliding partitions, lighting, music, and alerts throughout event spaces all operate through a single intuitive interface. Even within guest rooms—temperature, underfloor heating, ventilation, and lighting—everything can be controlled remotely from the front desk.

Material choices reinforce the design's timeless quality. Load-bearing interior elements feature raw concrete, while public areas showcase terrazzo flooring. The bar counter and other surfaces draw on warm wood and brass tones. These premium, durable materials work in concert with clean geometry, carefully curated furnishings, and a sophisticated lighting scheme to create an aesthetic that will endure.

From the street, the hotel commands attention through its expansive ground-floor glazing, flooding the interior with natural light. A striking yellow-brick façade by Petersen Tegl follows, culminating in a glass-enclosed roof terrace and a champagne-toned metal-clad sloped roof—a refined finish that crowns the entire composition.
