What started as a modest reorganization became something far more ambitious. The owners—a family with two children—initially wanted to address a few issues: the entrance felt cold due to a large white coat cupboard, and the living room, cluttered with various multimedia installations, needed to be reconfigured around their actual family needs. That's when architects Georg Brennecke and Dominik Nocon from the Munich-based firm daily space (founded in 2021) entered the picture, having been recommended by mutual friends. "After an in-depth conversation about how their family actually lives—and more importantly, how they wanted it to live going forward—we realized we needed to completely reimagine the entire floor," recalls Dominik Nocon.

The former entertainment space transformed into a purposeful family hub—one now organized around three essential elements: kitchen, table, and stove. At the heart sits a generously proportioned custom wooden table, designed to accommodate ten people comfortably. Dinner happens here without pushing aside homework; it doubles as a buffet for garden gatherings or game nights. The room's defining feature, however, is the striking tiled stove—a bespoke design that immediately draws the eye. Its warm, sunny tone radiates both cheerfulness and coziness, while serving a deeper purpose: it's where the family reads, plays, and connects, embodying the tradition of gathering together. The design balances this warmth with a practical light grey cast concrete floor (replacing the darker oak parquet), creating a bright, cohesive space. The kitchen's bold black island echoes the stove's sunny yellow through the niche wall, providing visual contrast while maintaining harmony. Even the entrance received a thoughtful touch: a built-in wardrobe with a cozy seating niche replaced the original oversized coat cupboard.
