A Journey Through the 1920s
Seiberts Bar on Friesenwall in Cologne is a Cologne institution.
Stepping into Seiberts is like entering another world entirely. Opened in 2014 within a historic old-town mansion on Friesenwall, this bar breathes the spirit of the 1920s, welcoming guests into a warm and inviting atmosphere. Every detail bears the personal touch of owner and namesake Volker Seibert, who crafted the perfect setting to showcase his award-winning, acclaimed bartending craft. The talented mixologist earned his reputation through his signature Negroni—that bittersweet Italian classic—but truly captivates through his Liquid Kitchen: drinks conceived with opulent elegance and meticulous artistry.
Soft light from antique lamps bathes the space in an inviting glow, where silk wallpapers and comfortable Chesterfield sofas encourage you to settle in. Floral arrangements punctuate the room with subtle elegance. The focal point is unmissable: a custom-crafted bar in naturally stained cherry wood, adorned with intricate hand-carved details. Behind it, rows of premium spirits gleam from beautifully framed wooden shelving. The crowning jewel, however, is the enchanting courtyard—an open-air sanctuary with rustic brick walls and verdant greenery that feels pulled from a storybook. Ornate French antique garden furniture and artfully arranged cushions in varied designs impart a playful sophistication. Here, guests naturally surrender to Seibert's liquid artistry: the bar team fashions unforgettable drinks with genuine artistic vision, drawing from small-batch, barrel-aged spirits, fresh flowers, and meticulously sourced ingredients.
