The aest. koncept store has become a destination for Scandinavian fashion labels since opening in Düsseldorf-Flingern several years ago. Last year, the shop expanded across the Rhine with a new location on Luegallee—a space that Düsseldorf-based interior design studio Konture transformed into something distinctive. Here, bold colour accents merge with organic, flowing forms that draw their unmistakable inspiration from Scandinavian Modern design.

The relatively narrow sales area stretches deep into a verdant inner courtyard—a space that required careful zoning to serve multiple functions. Just beyond the glazed street-facing storefront, an inviting round bar table anchors the entrance, framed by a linear wall shelf and streamlined clothing racks. Moving inward, the checkout counter—organically sculpted like a classic Finnish vase and wrapped entirely in aluminium—orchestrates the transition to the fitting rooms, compact storage, and additional displays beyond. To craft a cohesive aesthetic, the interior designers played with contrasting materials throughout. Striking hot pink tones capture attention from passersby, appearing most dramatically in the sculptural "Curly Lamp" by Swedish designer Gustaf Westman, which floats boldly above the substantial entrance table. This pink vocabulary echoes through the curtain fabrics of the fitting rooms and the 100% recyclable acrylic counter surface, while the plush, whimsical cloud sofa by German label "Objekte unserer Tage" adds another playful dimension. To let these striking elements breathe, the surrounding architecture deliberately steps back: white plaster walls, understated built-in furniture, and crisp white powder-coated clothing rails create a neutral backdrop. A diagonally laid timber-look floor reinforces the interior's quiet sophistication while visually expanding the compact space.
