A sanctuary of calm

Refined and purposeful: Osteopathic practice in Berlin's Tiergarten district

After years of practicing as a freelance physiotherapist and osteopath across various clinics, Stanislav Offenborn possessed a clear vision for his own practice – precisely what spatial layout and equipment it would require. Opening his own clinic in the heart of Berlin had long been his dream. When he found the ideal space in Tiergarten, the design possibilities seemed limitless. The result: two generously proportioned treatment rooms, a welcoming reception area, an open movement studio, a staff room, and separate facilities for patients and staff.

The design philosophy centers on clean lines and minimalism, enriched by abundant wooden elements. This restrained palette – minimal color variation paired with clear structure – creates an immediate sense of calm and assurance that patients feel the moment they arrive. Nearly four meters of ceiling height combined with floor-to-ceiling glazing flood the space with natural light throughout the day, while a carefully calibrated indirect lighting system takes over above. Custom-designed sideboards by Offenborn himself line the treatment rooms, providing ample storage for clinical equipment. Partition walls of glass and powder-coated steel define each room, while frosted film on the central glass sections ensures patient privacy during treatments.

The entrance features a living green wall with integrated irrigation, while potted plants throughout the clinic bring organic warmth to every corner. A striking blue-green designer sofa immediately captures attention upon entry – the space's defining accent piece. Anchored in a palette of white, black, and soft grey-blue with warm wood tones, the design fulfills its core mission: creating a space where relaxation becomes tangible. Subtle touches of gold and the vibrant greens of living plants infuse the clinic with additional character, transforming it into a genuine sanctuary of well-being.
