Modern, Bright and Elegant

Two Semi-Detached Houses Become One

Merging two semi-detached houses into one demanded a thoughtful approach: bright, generously proportioned spaces with abundant storage and refined elegance. B&K Design met this challenge with creativity and the perfect material selections. The dressing room showcases floor-to-ceiling built-in cabinetry, while a striking pivot door in the master bath floods the space with natural light. These are just two examples of the many bespoke solutions woven throughout the home. "Our interior design philosophy centered on crafting a warm, luminous, and expansive environment where functionality and beauty work hand in hand," explains project manager Malte Henssen. He notes that the dressing room and bathrooms were the initial priorities that shaped the entire design vision.

To infuse warmth throughout the home, B&K Design embraced wood and earthy tones, with smoked oak emerging as a signature material that anchors a harmonious aesthetic. Soft, indirect lighting enhances every room's welcoming atmosphere, while frosted glass doors add visual lightness to the floor-to-ceiling cabinetry. Strategically positioned mirrors expand the sense of space. Thoughtful details elevate the design: a floating vanity of smoked oak in the dressing room, a sleek open-shelving unit in the master bath paired with round mirrors and a striking black-steel towel rail, and throughout the living spaces, an understated elegance that doesn't shout for attention. The standout feature—a smoked oak paneled wall, seamlessly integrated into the drywall—immediately commands notice. A matching sideboard with a continuous top, finished in the refined Fenix Verde Comodoro, completes the composition. The result is exactly what was envisioned: beautiful, contemporary, and touched with quiet sophistication.
