Representative spaces combine concentration with the advantages of classic coworking spaces

If you want to combine the advantages of a coworking space with a concentrated working atmosphere in Frankfurt, you will find a place at the Alte Oper: quiet rooms allow creative and productive flights of fancy, but you can also network over a drink or snack. In contrast to established coworking providers, the 2,500 m² Satellite Office on Opernplatz focuses on concentrated peace and quiet when working. A special room concept was developed for this purpose: soundproofed cubes, shielded areas and protected breakout areas where coworkers can meet ensure concentration and well-being.

The office space extends over three upper and attic floors in two building sections connected by a bridge. Kölling Architekten from Bad Vilbel planned the new offices in the heart of Frankfurt. The architects had to combine two main aspects of use under one roof: a space-efficient, small-scale office structure that covers a wide range of tenant interests and areas that offer the open, communicative atmosphere of classic coworking. To enable a focus on the essentials and space for reflection, the architects have zoned the office space differently than usual. Instead of large open office landscapes, the Satellite Office offers a variety of differentiated and functionally graded options, including carefully coordinated individual and team offices, project offices and offices for managers that can be occupied on a long-term basis. In between, there are so-called silent cubes as retreats and meeting places, conference rooms of different sizes and orientations as well as open communication islands and bistro areas. "Room-high, frameless glass partitions along the circulation zones essentially create the spacious character of the office landscape. In combination with translucent gray-silver curtains, an open working environment is created despite the small scale," explains Moritz Kölling.

In keeping with the peaceful office concept, the client has opted for the purist design of a prestigious and elegant working environment. Coworkers will therefore find a calm working atmosphere in a material and color concept of warm anodized, grey, blue, eggplant and white tones, good acoustic and ergonomic equipment that creates an individual sense of well-being. In keeping with this, communication areas and special rooms display large, subtly toned photographic motifs of Frankfurt and the Alte Oper on individual walls. On the 4th and 5th floors, the colors eggplant and petrol highlight the special functions, such as the Silent Cubes.
