Dreams Come True

A family discovers pure holiday bliss in their own backyard

A backyard pool – something this family had dreamed about for years. Now, that dream has finally become reality. To bring it to life, the homeowner partnered with Kemmler and their Tübingen project team, who handled everything from tile selection to detailed planning and specifications. It was a project that demanded precision and expertise across numerous technical considerations. "This was an exciting challenge for us," reflects project consultant Andreas Merazzi. "After all, you don't get to design a swimming pool every day."

The homeowner had a clear vision: low-maintenance, large-format tiles that would harmonize with the house's aesthetic. The terrace tiles needed to feature a textured surface—one that conveyed natural warmth and character. The solution: 120 x 60 cm terrace tiles with an elegant natural stone appearance. A specially crafted edge detail created a seamless transition into the pool itself. Below the waterline, oversized tiles in a subtle cream concrete finish line the pool floor, complemented by 30 x 60 cm wall tiles in the same palette. Interestingly, the decision to use tiles came during the planning phase—a shift from the homeowner's original preference for a vinyl liner. The reasoning was straightforward: tiles offer superior durability and long-term value compared to traditional pool liners.
