Timeless Craftsmanship
Holger Scharping builds furniture that merges sustainability with refined design.
Born in Frankfurt am Main, Holger "Schappo" Scharping completed his carpentry apprenticeship in Groß-Gerau before embarking on a four-year journey through North America, working as a woodworker across various states. Returning to Germany in 1994, he applied his mastery of wood and metal to historic building restoration. In 2012, he established Schappo Möbelwerkstätte in Karben, where he channels his passion for fine craftsmanship into stools and tables that define contemporary design. Every piece reflects his commitment to sustainability—handcrafted from regional materials and engineered to last. Scharping's philosophy is clear: his timeless designs deliberately reject fleeting trends in favor of enduring elegance.
The height-adjustable stools adapt to any setting—workspace, kitchen counter, or bar. Each features a three-legged black steel frame (with the smallest model available in wood), paired with natural or smoked oak seating. A trapezoidal threaded spindle allows effortless height adjustment whenever needed. Scharping's tables mirror this design philosophy, with multiple styles and sizes available, including the Lions Gate model. Here, black steel frames intentionally contrast with solid wood tops, offering a choice of wood species. The result: furniture built to transcend time and trend.
