Bespoke Design

Frithjof Maschke creates products that spark a passion for technology.

Frithjof Maschke's academic path—medical technology in Wilhelmshaven, psychology in Bremen, and technology and innovation management in Pfungstadt—might seem unconnected at first. Yet these diverse disciplines converge perfectly in his vision. Since 2017, he's channeled this knowledge into build-yours, a start-up he founded in Zuffenhausen. Today, Maschke and his team craft individual, exclusive products designed to make technology engaging and enjoyable for everyone.

The label's mission is to reimagine products by enhancing and transforming existing functions—injecting creativity and efficiency into daily life. Every offering comes in two forms: as a DIY kit or fully assembled. The kits bridge education and technology, encouraging both children and adults to discover their interest in how things work through hands-on assembly. A standout example is the WordClock. Stripped of the usual ticking, moving hands, and constant blinking, this minimalist black timepiece displays hours and minutes as silent words. Its individually customizable lighting can be adjusted via app to match any mood—a simple acrylic glass construction of interlocking slats that's as elegant as it is intuitive.
