Everyday Solutions
Christian Lessing designs furniture and products – from concept to market-ready series
In 2006, Christian Lessing established "Lessing Produktgestaltung" in Düsseldorf. A trained carpenter and studied graphic designer, he creates furniture and products that simplify and enhance everyday living. His guiding principle: every problem has a solution—you just have to find it.
The studio operates from two distinct locations: a pristine design studio housed in a historic villa in Düsseldorf's Zooviertel, and a workshop tucked behind an unassuming door in Oberbilk's backbuildings, where prototypes come to life. There, Lessing's team develops ingenious pieces like the SchubHocker—a stool whose pull-out drawer transforms into a sturdy seat, perfect for entryways where you can slip on shoes while keeping keys and essentials within arm's reach. Crafted from oiled larch multiplex with a linoleum-lined drawer and powder-coated steel sliding surface, it combines form and function seamlessly. The Collecteur reinvents magazine storage: two interlocking brackets expand as your collection grows, keeping everything organized—and serving double duty as a stool or side table. Then there's the cafe clamp table: the answer for those who crave coffee on the balcony or patio. Clamp it anywhere it fits, and its curved cutouts securely hold cups and glasses. The clamp accommodates surfaces up to six centimeters wide.
