A Timeless Aesthetic
A Parisian luxury brand steps back in time with its newest boutique
Each of this Parisian brand's stores possesses its own distinctive character – sometimes retro, sometimes decidedly modern, featuring abundant glass, brass, or wood. The recently unveiled Munich boutique – Germany's first location for luxury skincare purveyor L'Officine Universelle Buly 1803 – is no exception. Its concept channels the elegance of a historic apothecary, rendered in rich, earthy tones from warm brown to forest green. Here, extraordinary fragrances and face and body care products are displayed in beautifully nostalgic vessels – bottles, jars, and tubes that capture the spirit of another era. Every detail speaks to luxury: only the finest materials, including mahogany and marble, grace the interior.
The store's design, located steps from Hotel Bayerischer Hof at Promenadenplatz 2, draws inspiration from its distinguished surroundings. Soaring archways and carved wooden details evoke the sacred architecture of churches while simultaneously celebrating Schwabing's Art Nouveau heritage – a district once synonymous with bohemian creativity. It's an homage to German architectural traditions infused with French elegance, explains Ramdane Touhami, Buly's founder and creative director. Beyond cosmetics – pomade, powder, toothbrush, and toothpaste – the collection extends to grooming essentials: wooden combs and shaving brushes, all rendered in nostalgic style. The home collection deserves equal attention: exquisite scented candles rest in marble vessels, while Buly's distinctive scent warmer, with its striking black and gold aesthetic, gently perfumes the air.
