Don't sacrifice – just switch

The zero-waste shop in Mülheim an der Ruhr inspires conscious consumption

Three entrepreneurs – Lara and Jana Weyers, along with Ariane Gerke – have brought their vision to life with Püngel & Prütt, a zero-waste shop that challenges conventional shopping. Environmentally conscious customers will discover organic and fair-trade foods available in bulk and in glass containers, alongside a thoughtful selection of household and cosmetic alternatives to mass-produced goods. It's an invitation to rethink consumption and shop with integrity. The in-house low-waste café rounds out the experience, serving fair-trade coffee and homemade pastries in a warm, welcoming space furnished with carefully curated 1950s and 1960s pieces – each sourced from eBay and restored by the founders themselves. Local carpentry studios collaborated on the interior design, lending their expertise to the shop's distinctive character. Ask the owners about Don Kamillo from the Sauerland on your next visit – there's quite a story there.
