A Bar for the Worldly Explorer

The Atlantic Bar brings together Hanseatic charm with cosmopolitan sophistication and refined pleasure

The newly opened Atlantic Bar at Hotel Atlantic Hamburg is a sanctuary for leisurely moments: blending the warmth of a Hamburg home with the allure of distant travels. Here, guests gather to savor their morning coffee, indulge in the legendary high tea complete with scones, or settle in with a glass of champagne—all in an atmosphere of refined elegance and comfort. As evening falls, Philipp Weigelt and his bar team showcase their inventive creations, served in pristine crystal. The bar's distinctive identity comes from its thoughtful use of spices, herbs, and flavors sourced from across the globe.

The space is defined by soaring barrel vaults and an exquisite coffered ceiling with hand-finished stuccowork. Dark-stained oak panels line the walls, complemented by smoked oak flooring that evokes the look of ship's deck boards. Striking blue armchairs introduce a maritime accent, while a bold red hand-tufted velour carpet—a signature piece from acclaimed Hamburg interior house Tai Ping Carpets Intérieur—adds a striking visual counterpoint with Asian sophistication. Decorative artifacts transport the spirit of global travel throughout the space: side tables designed to evoke vintage luggage sit alongside curated shelves and display cases showcasing Chinese porcelains, English teapots, and even a portable travel bar. The bar counter, finished with quilted leather detailing, channels American style and serves as the stage where globally sourced ingredients meet creative craft—yielding distinctly refined cocktails. CM Design, the Hamburg-based firm under the artistic vision of Titia große Broermann, orchestrated the Atlantic Bar's interior design.
