Every detail needed to reflect a contemporary aesthetic without feeling cold, while maximizing smart home convenience. The aprikari studio in Viersen designed a custom residence for the couple, realized on a generous plot in Nettetal's new development area.

The floor plan's core concept centers on enabling the couple's daily life to unfold gracefully across a single level. The entry, complete with cloakroom and straightforward staircase, flows into an expansive living-dining-kitchen area that opens directly to the garden. Above, a dramatic void rises through two stories, crowned by an elegant gallery. The primary suite includes a generously proportioned spa bathroom with a seated shower and soaking tub, complemented by a separate sauna and wellness area. Direct garden access and views of the outdoor pool complete this private sanctuary. The entire upper floor serves as guest accommodation, featuring a guest bedroom and additional bathroom.

The interior design showcases meticulous detailing, with sophisticated built-ins discreetly integrated into the structure and recessed into the walls – all carefully planned during construction. TV screens, audio systems, and ventilation ducts are all seamlessly integrated into custom cabinetry. A standout feature is the double-sided tunnel fireplace, which creates visual continuity between the living and sleeping zones. Throughout the home, warm wood tones pair beautifully with light natural stone flooring, while the bathrooms feature soft matte stone textures in grey. This is balanced by industrial accents – visible in the flat steel door profiles and bronze hardware – adding contemporary edge. Strategic LED light strips enhance the ambiance further. Technologically, the home represents the latest innovation: underfloor heating, ventilation, window shading, security systems, and even garden maintenance are all orchestrated through a centralized smart home platform.
