Looking for some peace and quiet?
High above Cologne's rooftops lies the perfect venue for unforgettable events of every kind.
Whether you're planning a photo shoot, celebrating Aunt Erna's 80th birthday, or searching for that one-of-a-kind venue – major cities like Cologne, Düsseldorf, and Hamburg deliver in spades. Each offers its own distinctive character and countless possibilities. Want to see what we mean? Read on.
Perched on the 29th floor of the Unicenter, Sturmfreie Bude commands breathtaking views over Cologne – with the majestic cathedral front and center. "Our vision was to create a serene green space where people can escape the urban hustle, find inspiration, and work at their creative best," explains managing director Christina Korte. The venue adapts to any occasion with flexible room configurations tailored to your exact needs. Lectures, networking events, conferences, intimate celebrations – each gains something special when hosted above the city's rooftops. The 300 m² loft features a generous roof terrace and accommodates groups from 2 to 70 guests. State-of-the-art technology and premium meeting equipment come standard, including complimentary WiFi, Sonos sound system, flipcharts, customizable seating, modular furniture, presentation supplies, and portable cooking equipment.
The thoughtfully curated interior design reflects the collaborative vision of the four-person team, with Jessica Pötzscher leading the creative direction. "From the smallest details – a spoon, a cup – to the larger elements like plants, planters, and furniture, everything coheres around a unified design philosophy that guests experience in every corner," Pötzscher explains. This holistic approach creates an immediate sense of belonging. The team also shaped the furniture design, bringing their concept to life through partnership with donnerblitz Design in Münster, who previously partnered on the original Sturmfreie Bude location in Düsseldorf.
