Aesthetics and Atmosphere
Norman Kamp and Birger Schneider craft spatial concepts and design bespoke furniture.
In 2018, designers and interior architects Norman Kamp and Birger Schneider established Studio Konture in Düsseldorf. The studio specializes in interior design projects, spatial concepts, and custom furniture and interior installations. Their collaborative approach brings together a diverse network of freelancers spanning interior design, architecture, scenography, graphic design, and skilled trades.
Among the pieces developed in their Unterbilk studio is the Gravitas series—a weatherproof outdoor collection crafted from galvanized steel grating and recognized with the Red Dot Award 2020 for product design. This table-and-seating ensemble combines durability with minimal maintenance. From private gardens to public parks, hiking trails, civic plazas, and schoolyards, Gravitas adapts seamlessly to any outdoor setting. Its surfaces are effortless to clean and maintain. The table pairs flexibly with stools or benches and can be customized to fit your specific dimensions. The All Black sideboard maximizes storage through phenolic resin-coated plywood—a material originally engineered for construction site concrete formwork. Its deliberately compact profile makes it ideal for spaces with limited depth. Mitred door edges throughout create a refined aesthetic, defined by minimal sight lines and a disciplined geometric grid.
