Maximilian von Dieken creates furniture with a distinct personal signature
Maximilian von Dieken began his career as an apprentice carpenter. Early in his training, he started building his own furniture pieces, igniting a passion for furniture design that would shape his future. This led him to pursue formal studies in product design at the Academy of Design in Münster. In 2018, he established his design studio in Düsseldorf. Today, from his workshop in Mörsenbroich, he designs and produces furniture and products with a clear vision: to make the world a little more interesting through thoughtful creation. His approach centers on reduced design. "My goal is to develop products that carry my distinctive voice," he explains. Beyond furniture, von Dieken also conceptualizes diverse interior design schemes – notably for an ice cream parlor chain, where he designed and built the complete interior environment.
Among von Dieken's series productions is a side table that exemplifies his philosophy: it assembles in minutes with no tools required. The multiplex top sits atop a tapered hexagonal base, where three precisely fitted legs wedge securely into place. Another signature piece is his shoe rack – equally versatile, whether wall-mounted or floor-standing. Across three levels, it accommodates shoes and small accessories alike, and functions as a standalone unit or combines modularly to any scale. The shelves are crafted from spruce wood with metal side framing. A powder-coated metal book holder fastens to the wall, with books positioned so their spines lean securely against the upper support strut, ensuring a firm grip. Available in the complete spectrum of four-digit RAL colors.
