This year's RAL colour trend report, COLOUR FEELING 2025+, sets the standard for contemporary architecture and design. Across crafts, retail, and industry, these 15 carefully selected colours provide an essential foundation for 2025 and beyond. The palette responds to today's challenges, inspires transformation, supports project-driven design, and helps create meaningful connections with our environment.

The RAL COLOUR FEELING 2025+ trend report centres on a single theme: CARE + COLLABORATE.

The latest trend report from Bonn's colour specialists focuses on circular economy and regenerative design. The 2025+ palette builds on the past while looking toward the future: five colours carry forward from the previous trend palette, while two have continued since RAL COLOUR FEELING 2022+, establishing themselves as modern classics. The colours work seamlessly together, enabling flexible and adaptable design solutions. What's more, all colours come from the RAL DESIGN SYSTEM plus, ensuring they can be applied contextually and combined systematically.

The coming years will be shaped by familiar forms and grounding colours, alongside vibrant, energising shades with high saturation. Relaxation spaces are crafted with calming, tactile qualities, while bold colour focal points spark creativity and dialogue. Earthen tones paired with fresh accents create dynamic combinations, and a thoughtful, inclusive colour selection fosters connection and wellbeing. Informed choices based on RAL's 2025+ colour trends offer both emotional and physical support—grounding us during times of change.

From colour to material – practical application of the 2025+ palette

The interplay between colour, material, surface, and texture creates immersive, holistic designs. The RAL Trendbox 2025+ brings this to life, translating each colour across five different materials. Alongside standard RAL colour samples, the box includes plastic samples from Covestro, powder-coated metals from Tiger Coatings, carpets from Object Carpet, and textiles from Gabriel.

The RAL Trendbox 2025+ has been nominated for the German Design Award 2024 in the Excellent Product Design category.

"With our latest trend report, we're supporting designers once again as they shape tomorrow," says Markus Frentrop, Global Head of RAL FARBEN. "Through the innovative Trendbox—developed hand-in-hand with our partners—we're bringing CARE + COLLABORATE to life in tangible form. And together with fellow foundation members from the German Design Council, we're proudly demonstrating our deep commitment to design."

With RAL COLOUR FEELING 2025+, RAL reinforces its strong partnership with the Institute International Trendscouting at HAWK University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Hildesheim. Designer Timo Rieke, Professor of Colour Design at HAWK and Design Lead for the project, created a practical tool for designers that stands apart—it demonstrates real-world applications and offers methods for designing with human needs at the centre. The report aspires to champion sustainable design and advance the transformation of design practice itself.

Additional background on the report, design resources, press materials, inspiration, and a fold-out guide (available in eight languages) can all be found on the RAL FARBEN website.
