Modern and inviting
Commerzbank's headquarters in Essen city centre received a fresh interior design.
Commerzbank has been represented in Essen for 118 years. Its main location on Lindenallee now boasts a fresh new design and has been equipped with innovative technology. Covering around 1,900 m² on the ground floor, private and corporate customers can now receive advice in an elegant yet understated atmosphere of well-being that appeals to the bank's discerning clientele.
The ground floor underwent a comprehensive six-month transformation. Working within the framework of modern workplace standards, Commerzbank's in-house architecture team redesigned the floor plan, refreshing ceilings and walls throughout. The flooring now blends practical vinyl surfaces with premium carpeting. Upon arrival, clients are greeted in an expansive reception area featuring a media wall, custom kitchenette, and lounge seating. Broad corridors connect the various consultation spaces and video conference rooms, which maintain full confidentiality despite their open glazing. Modern video conferencing technology enables advisors to connect with clients remotely – creating the feeling of face-to-face interaction for those unable to visit the private banking and wealth management branch in person. All renovation work proceeded without interrupting regular operations, with the noisiest tasks scheduled for early morning hours. The safe deposit box area was relocated and its access system upgraded. Additionally, lighting was converted to LED technology, and both the air conditioning and ventilation systems were completely replaced.
