A Light-Filled Oasis
Weiß & Weiß's glass pavilion creates an elegant living space extension
A stunning glass pavilion now extends this private Munich residence, creating a sunlit sanctuary that demonstrates how thoughtful design can seamlessly merge interior and exterior spaces. The project was realized through the expertise of Weiß & Weiß, a specialized window and door maker based in Kirchheim near Munich.
Expansive sliding glass doors open the living area directly to the terrace and garden, creating an almost seamless spatial flow. Even when closed, these elements blur the distinction between interior and exterior—nature becomes woven into the home's character. A flat glass ceiling invites daylight from every angle, amplifying the sense of brightness and airiness. Slender black aluminium frames provide visual definition without compromising the connection to the landscape beyond.
This glass house is both an aesthetic enhancement and a functional asset to the home. Integrated shading systems—including a subtle ceiling-mounted solution—keep the space comfortable even during sweltering summers. On cooler days, discreet infrared heating embedded in the walls delivers warmth while preserving the open, airy character of the room. The result is year-round versatility: a peaceful retreat for reading, an inviting social hub, or a verdant home office.
Specifications: Cubic terrace roof with frameless all-glass folding wall systems and minimalist aluminium sliding windows; integrated motorized awning and textile solar shading; all elements in anthracite grey aluminium.
