Flowing Intuitively Through Space

The practice cultivates a welcoming atmosphere through thoughtful zoning, form, color, and materiality

Nestled in a five-storey contemporary building in Heilbronn's heart, this new gynaecology practice embodies seamless design thinking. The façade's distinctive curved form extends inward, creating a cohesive dialogue between exterior and interior. Architekturbüro 12:43 Architekten designed the interior to marry functionality with refined aesthetics, fostering an inviting environment for both medical staff and patients.

At the heart of the practice sits a gently curved central block that anchors the spatial composition, highlighted by ambient lighting running along the ceiling perimeter. This commanding core orchestrates the various zones with precision, balancing patient privacy with seamless accessibility for the medical team. The spatial flow is intuitive—you naturally move from one room to the next without hesitation. The interior design embraces quality materials and surfaces rich in both tactile and visual interest, exemplified by the subtly checked wooden surface at reception. A dual palette of magenta and mint creates visual harmony, clearly articulating the spatial hierarchy while fostering a sense of calm. The laboratory, accessible to both staff and patients alike, echoes this two-tone concept throughout. The color differentiation of the central block and its surrounding circulation reinforce the zoning strategy across the 170 m² practice. A standout feature is the dedicated yoga studio, where the physician offers pregnancy yoga classes. Textured curtains filter natural light to create a serene, restful environment.

Paired with an elegant dragonfly motif, wayfinding messages appear as striking door graphics throughout the space. Custom-crafted built-ins and illuminated circular acoustic panels reinforce the colour strategy while adding sculptural accents to reception and waiting zones.
