A 1979 residence transformed with premium audio and video systems

High-End Living

This comprehensive renovation of a 1979 atrium bungalow places cutting-edge technology at its heart. The owners' passion project centers on a bespoke sound and video system that delivers a premium audiovisual experience throughout the home. They partnered with Munich-based Bang & Olufsen specialists Andreas and Christian Klöser early in the design phase to bring their vision to life. The living room was conceived from the start as an authentic cinema destination – a large OLED display paired with surround sound transforms every movie night into an immersive event.

The living room, wellness suite, and bedrooms feature an integrated multi-room audio system delivering premium sound throughout. The kitchen and outdoor spaces are part of this ecosystem, allowing music to accompany both meal preparation and garden relaxation. The speaker selection proved straightforward – Bang & Olufsen's range of compact speakers delivers the same sonic performance as their larger counterparts, offering flexibility in placement. Complete control via smartphone or tablet means you can synchronize audio across all zones or operate each space independently – ideal when one person craves a film while another wants music. The living room's clever two-zone layout maintains visual openness while accommodating distinct uses, both accessible from the central seating area. The bathrooms employ mobile speakers that transition seamlessly to the terrace or poolside when needed. In the atrium, discreet waterproof outdoor speakers ensure flawless sound. Speaker finishes were selected after establishing the material and color palettes for each space – Bang & Olufsen's range of wood, aluminum, and textile options made it possible to match selections perfectly to their surroundings.
