Harmonious Balance

Contemporary design that inspires—where modern aesthetics create the ideal dental practice environment

The Good Smile dental practice brings together functional clarity and contemporary design across 240 m². Its most distinctive feature—housed in a former medical laboratory—is an extraordinary ceiling height that reaches an impressive 4.3 metres at its peak, creating a naturally open and airy experience.

The pd raumplan concept works with a restrained palette of black, warm greys, and soft beige tones—refined through the thoughtful introduction of striking materials. Metallic reflective surfaces take centre stage in the reception, appearing on the counter and extending floor-to-ceiling across the walls. Horizontal divisions punctuate these elements, emphasising the impressive ceiling height while creating visual rhythm. This design language repeats throughout: in the black wood panelling beside the counter, the glass partition into the waiting area, and the felt-lined feature wall—each becoming a signature motif. Organic paper fixtures provide a softer counterpoint to the geometric precision, echoing the counter's curved form. The interplay of cool metallic surfaces with warm wood and beige tones achieves a true balance between coolness and warmth. The waiting room emerges as the heart of the design. A suspended acoustic fixture—1.56 metres tall—floats at the room's centre, anchoring the space vertically in a way only the exceptional ceiling height allows. Forest-motif wallpaper reinforces the colour palette, while the felt-covered feature wall ties the reception and waiting areas into one cohesive whole. The forest theme continues into the treatment rooms, where the ceiling dramatically rises to its full 4.3 metres above each chair, with skylights that enhance the sense of openness. The wallpaper becomes theatrical against this soaring light well, creating a dynamic spatial experience. A terrazzo-look floor with metallic flecks echoes the material and colour story throughout. The result is an integrated design—functional yet beautiful, modern yet warm—that transforms the patient experience into something genuinely welcoming and inspiring.
