Traditional Craftsmanship

Damian Kluczny transformed his passion into a profession. As a child, he fell in love with traditional wood carving under his father's guidance. By his teenage years, he was already designing and building his own products—most notably, custom longboards. After studying product design at the Münster School of Design, he took the leap into entrepreneurship, launching Wild-Handcrafted-Goods in Dortmund in 2010. His two workshops in Duisburg now produce handcrafted wood and leather pieces that embody his philosophy: everything is made by hand, machines are kept to an absolute minimum, and traditional leatherworking techniques remain central to his practice.
Among the furniture and products created in his Rheinhausen and Wanheimerort workshops is a striking coffee table: a custom design in solid, stained oak with flat steel supports connecting the legs to the top. Equally refined is his cutting board—a single piece of solid oak engineered for durability and longevity. Recessed handles along the sides offer easy gripping, while a juice channel and knife slot keep essentials within reach. The slot itself is covered with a leather patch, breast-pocket style, secured with press studs for effortless removal and cleaning. The sealed board and detachable leather detail exemplify his attention to both function and craft.
