Playing with Colour and Form
Annette Meijerink creates luminous objects that transform their spatial environment
Design passion, boundless creativity, and an unwavering commitment to quality inspire Annette Meijerink across both her interior design projects and her signature lighting series – many of which offer complete customization. The interior designer established her label Coloured By in Cologne's city centre in 2010, rebranding it as coloured by Annette Meijerink in 2017. Her collections emerge from an experimental dialogue between colour, material, and form. Take the Mingus pendant: its striking geometric silhouette and dynamic interplay of contrasting bands elevate it far beyond a simple fixture. This contemporary take on the classic lampshade brings distinctive character to any living space – whether displayed as a solitary statement piece or grouped in artistic clusters.
The Jos table lamp masterfully balances bold geometric form with restrained colour. The seamless colour continuity between base and shade reinforces its presence as a sculptural object. Crafted from high-gloss lacquered wood, the base features a transparent cord and accommodates two shade sizes. Available in two colours and heights—65 cm and 85 cm—the taller version doubles as a floor lamp or perches beautifully on low shelving. The Ada floor lamp takes a purer approach: its refined conical profile works beautifully over compact dining or side tables. A braided textile cord adds tactile warmth to the design. Choose from four shade colours, each paired with a coordinating cord.
