Kristina Meyer champions minimalist design and everyday-practical products

Modal Concept No. 27522_15_700px

Kristina Meyer studied product design at Kunsthochschule Kassel. Following an internship in San Francisco, she worked as a designer for various furniture manufacturers throughout Germany. Her passion for wood as a material began in childhood—her grandfather was a master carpenter, and she spent many holidays working in his workshop. In late 2003, she established her own design studio, byform produktdesign, specializing in furniture and product design in Cologne. Since 2006, she has collaborated with industrial designer Thorsten Rosenstengel on projects for the furniture and kitchen industries, while continuing to develop her own furniture and product designs. While byform primarily realizes products according to client specifications, Kristina Meyer's second label, myform produktdesign, grants her the creative freedom to develop designs entirely according to her own vision. In her workshop store junic, located in Ehrenfeld, she creates products that are deeply personal and highly individual. Among byform's current designs is the Aton light shelf for Modal Concept: its clean lines create distinctive visual accents and can be complemented with small wooden modules and hanging accessories. This allows Aton to fulfill a wide range of individual storage needs. The ele.Boxes also bring order to any space—they simply hang on shelves or desks, providing additional storage capacity. The hanging slot height measures either 29 mm or 35 mm, allowing the ele.Box to be mounted on tabletops or shelf boards with thicknesses up to 27 mm or 33 mm respectively. Available in white, anthracite, silver gray, and blood orange.
