Test-Drive Agile Working
A "Work Experience Space" in the southern district offers companies a hands-on testing ground for new work environments.
Nestled within the historic walls of a former furniture factory in the southern district stands a distinctive New Work office—a space designed to bring the multifaceted dimensions of modern work to life. Interior design firm stanke interiordesign from Euskirchen developed and executed the interior concept on behalf of PRG Projekt Rheinland AG. The result: "Work. Experience. Space. – a brand of projekt rheinland"—an innovative work environment that serves as a hub for encounter, communication, and collaboration.
Companies, clients, and network partners can temporarily lease space here to explore and test emerging work methods within thoughtfully designed spatial configurations. Beyond daily use, the space hosts inspiring events and workshops dedicated to New Work topics. Throughout the day, visitors experience diverse work zones, spatial arrangements, and cutting-edge media technology—all serving as living inspiration for their own organizations and projects. The design employs a striking material palette: white maritime pine, polished concrete flooring, and metallic surfaces with a futuristic hammered finish. A bold yet purposeful color scheme reinforces the function of each work area, guiding users to spaces that match their spatial needs. Flexible furnishings adapt instantly to shifting work scenarios, reposition effortlessly, and stow compactly when needed. A sculptural staircase doubles as a gathering point for quick colleague conversations and seamlessly transforms into an event platform for lectures, workshops, and New Work symposiums. The spatial design strategically balances multiple atmospheres: quiet zones and collaborative hubs coexist intentionally. The silent area—rendered in soft blues and grays—invites deep focus for concentration-intensive tasks. In more open zones, acoustically engineered curtains provide flexible separation between workstations. Vibrant zones—anchored by striking sulfur yellow—energize exchange and interaction. Polarizing coral red defines the meeting room and phone booth. A generous, adaptable "town hall" brings the team together on neutral ground, complete with space for spontaneous basketball matches that keep momentum flowing. The result: a thoughtfully orchestrated work environment that captures the essence of today's digital, agile era.
