How colour and lighting foster a workplace that feels good to work in

Between the museum embankment and railway district, Deutsche Interim AG opened its striking new headquarters. Simone Ferrari Interior Design was tasked with transforming the 140 m² space into a sophisticated office. The result: a spacious team workspace overlooking the Main, a meeting room, two focus work areas, and a compact kitchen featuring a full-length writable wall. Every colour and material selected conveys quality, naturalness, and calm. A sculptural wallpaper in the lounge serves as the focal point—a one-of-a-kind creation developed by Ferrari in collaboration with artist Peter Schönwandt. Expertly complementing this centrepiece, the main walls showcase a focus-enhancing greige tone paired with a subtle blue, creating an elegant frame for the bold furniture arrangements.

A sculptural suspended light rail bridges the different zones with visual grace. Recognizing that light quality, colour temperature, user control, and glare management are essential to workplace performance, the lighting design meets all relevant standards while also incorporating the latest research on how light influences employee well-being and productivity. This thoughtful concept was developed alongside lighting designer Christoph Adlfinger-Pullmann. "The exceptional spatial quality has created workspaces that truly inspire," notes Christoph Domhardt of Deutsche Interim AG. "Our teams embraced them enthusiastically, quickly choosing them over remote work—a powerful shift after the pandemic years."
