This year's RAL colour trend report, COLOUR FEELING 2025+, sets the standard for contemporary architecture and design. Across crafts, retail, and industry, these 15 carefully selected colours provide an essential foundation for 2025 and beyond. The palette responds to today's challenges, inspires transformation, supports project-driven design, and helps create meaningful connections with our environment.

The RAL COLOUR FEELING 2025+ trend report centres on a single theme: CARE + COLLABORATE.

At the center of the current trend report from Bonn's color experts lies the circular economy and regenerative design. The 2025+ palette builds deliberately on the past while looking ahead: 5 colors have been intentionally carried forward from the previous trend palette, while two colors have continued since RAL COLOUR FEELING 2022+ and have established themselves as new classics. The colors are flexibly combinable with one another, enabling adaptive design solutions. At the same time, all colors are drawn from the RAL DESIGN SYSTEM plus, which allows them to be applied contextually and complement each other systematically.

The coming years will be shaped by familiar forms and grounding colours, alongside vibrant, energising shades with high saturation. Relaxation spaces are crafted with calming, tactile qualities, while bold colour focal points spark creativity and dialogue. Earthen tones paired with fresh accents create dynamic combinations, and a thoughtful, inclusive colour selection fosters connection and wellbeing. Informed choices based on RAL's 2025+ colour trends offer both emotional and physical support—grounding us during times of change.

From colour to material – practical application of the 2025+ palette

The interplay of color, material, surface, and texture creates atmospheric, holistic designs. This year, the RAL Trendbox 2025+ is available, translating the current colors across 5 different materials. In addition to standardized RAL individual color samples, the box includes plastic color samples from Covestro, powder-coated metal from Tiger Coatings, carpet samples from Object Carpet, and textile samples from Gabriel.

The RAL Trendbox 2025+ has been nominated for the German Design Award 2024 in the Excellent Product Design category.

With the current edition of RAL COLOUR FEELING, RAL continues its close and long-standing collaboration with the Institute International Trendscouting at the Hochschule für angewandte Wissenschaft und Kunst in Hildesheim. Timo Rieke, professor of color design at HAWK and design lead of the project, was committed to developing a practical work tool for designers that distinguishes itself from other forecasts by showcasing concrete applications and conveying methods for human-centered design. The report aims to support sustainable design practices and be part of transformative developments in the design field.
