Three Bochum Coworking Spaces with Distinctive Character
Work Inn's expanding coworking network now spans multiple locations. Yet each maintains a distinct personality, deeply rooted in its surroundings. This is especially true of the three Bochum spaces: Bermuda3Eck, FiftyOne, and Milestone.
Work Inn Bermuda3Eck. Bermuda3Eck has long been Bochum's legendary party destination. Now, the new Work Inn Bermuda3Eck channels that vibrant, colorful energy through a Caribbean theme that permeates the entire space. Spread across four floors and 1,200 m², the design transports you straight to the tropics. The bright, naturally lit offices—ranging from 9 to 52 m²—sport evocative names like "Havana," "Haiti," and "Bahamas." Two meeting rooms, a conference room, and two kitchens round out the amenities, while the roof terrace extends work possibilities outdoors. Caribbean hues flow throughout: turquoise and sand-toned seating, wood-effect flooring, botanical wallpapers featuring beach scenes, and lush palms create an unmistakable holiday atmosphere where work feels like escape.
Work Inn FiftyOne. The mountain theme becomes clear as soon as you step inside this 1,600 m² space sprawling across four floors. "The building has no elevator," notes Dörte Schabsky, the company's design director, with a knowing smile, "so there's always been something of a climb involved." That observation sparked a design concept that celebrates alpine landscapes and the spirit of summiting.
The mountain narrative unfolds across the upper floors through oversized panoramic wallpapers bursting with natural scenery, complemented by rich green carpets evoking alpine meadows. The summit level features a rooftop terrace for outdoor work, as does a ground-floor terrace. This location sets the sustainability standard among the three Bochum spaces, featuring EV charging stations, wooden platform workstations on the third floor, and height-adjustable hot-desks in the generous open-plan area. Offices span 10 to 40 m². Throughout all Work Inn locations, the design philosophy builds on proven solutions, continuously enriched with innovative furnishings and standout features—like meeting pods.
Work Inn Milestone. The third location, Milestone, embraces the "Champion" concept with sport at its core. Occupying the first and second floors of a fully renovated building, it's unmistakably a space built for winners. Tenants enjoy exclusive gym access and an in-house bouldering wall. Sports gear—skipping ropes, hula hoops, mini table tennis—is scattered throughout the 800 m² to fuel movement and energy. The climate-controlled offices (9–60 m²) bear names like "Ballet," "Hockey," and "Football," while meetings happen in a pool-themed conference room. A kitchen and lounge area complete the athletic atmosphere. Across all three locations, biophilic design—the interplay of green and natural wood—serves as a unifying thread.
