A Sustainable Home That Inspires

ANA-01_19_700 pixels

Nestled in a former allotment garden in Wörth am Main, this family home captivates with understated elegance and sustainable design. Its black wooden façade creates a striking backdrop for the vibrant greenery surrounding the house. The façade extends boldly not only across the home's sides but also across the entire roof—a distinctive gesture that unifies the design. Even technical elements like gutters, downpipes, and ventilation systems integrate seamlessly into the wooden skin, preserving the home's sculptural clarity.

The photovoltaic cells integrated into the roof contribute quietly to the home's sustainable energy supply, blending naturally with the dark roofline. "Ultimately, this residence exemplifies the harmonious dialogue between nature and contemporary architecture," explains Viktor Grams of Grams und Grams Architektur. "Through its sustainable ethos and thoughtful design, it creates an inspiring, environmentally conscious living environment for its residents."

Inside, floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows dissolve the boundary between interior and garden. This transparent dialogue connects the home's intimate spaces with the natural beauty of the landscape beyond. A generous terrace landscape envelops the house, offering both sheltered and open-air areas that feel like natural extensions of the living spaces.

The thoughtful room arrangement enhances the living experience: the living area opens toward a private, tranquil garden; the technical spaces face the street; and bedrooms occupy a quieter side of the property. In the children's bathroom, an elegant skylight floods the shower area with natural light while maintaining complete privacy from outside views. The exposed concrete floors bring a contemporary edge indoors, creating a sophisticated counterpoint to the natural surroundings. A geothermal heat pump system with concrete core activation efficiently maintains optimal temperatures year-round. An intelligent smart home system orchestrates all building services, continuously optimizing comfort and energy performance. In essence, this home embodies the seamless integration of nature and modern architecture—a sustainable refuge that inspires environmentally conscious living.
