Flexible office spaces designed to inspire connection and collaboration
A global leader in automotive supply has built a new administrative center at its Hamburg manufacturing facility to house various departments. Seel Bobsin Partner (sbp) led the interior design and execution of approximately 1,400 m² of office space. From the initial needs assessment through planning and implementation, the sbp team guided the company with a keen focus on modern workplace principles. Working collaboratively with employees, they identified needs and aspirations for the new spaces, with an internal team championing the project from start to finish.
Working closely with end users and the client, sbp created bespoke, contemporary work environments that balance form and function seamlessly. The cohesive design language speaks through carefully curated materials, distinctive color palettes, custom graphics, and thoughtfully equipped functional zones—delivering both high performance and aesthetic appeal. The open-plan areas feature a transparent multi-space layout anchored by a flexible, multifunctional hub. This adaptable central zone—combining open and enclosed spaces—naturally buffers the perimeter workstations while housing the essentials of modern office culture: collaboration, focused work, informal gatherings, formal meetings, and flexible work modes. Positioned for easy access, these hubs actively support a culture of desk sharing. On the upper floors, variable "marketplace" meeting points enable spaces to transform based on user needs.
The ground-floor restaurant—spanning roughly 270 m²—strikes an inviting, high-quality aesthetic that doubles as an informal gathering hub for colleagues across the office and adjacent production facilities ("blue collars meet white collars"). The space is equally suited for town hall meetings. This centrally located, highly accessible area strategically encourages open communication and connection across all business functions.
