Can interior design take inspiration from a pizza box? The answer is a resounding yes—at least for Gustavo Gusto, the cult pizza brand behind it. Working with Munich-based Alexandra Kiendl Architektur, the company has transformed its Geretsried headquarters with a bold new interior identity. The design concept draws directly from the brand's iconic logo: a vibrant green basil beard emerging from beneath a chef's hat, reproduced across crisp white pizza boxes. The result is a bright, welcoming, and impeccably organized workspace. The redesign encompassed an open-plan office, individual workstations, restrooms, and a staff kitchen—all unified by a palette of white and black punctuated with striking green accents and abundant living plants.

Even the red from the packaging makes an appearance—rendered as vibrant red power cables. "Our first priority was simply to bring order to the space," explains project manager Sarah Alexandra Surmann. The rooms previously felt fragmented, a mix of mismatched design elements. Today, they function as a cohesive office environment with distinct zones. The reception area features a light-glazed maritime pine counter paired with a striking black Fenix worktop. A custom maritime pine light fixture suspended above serves as an inviting focal point for visitors entering the space. As Gustavo Gusto continues to grow, the architects maximized every opportunity—particularly through an ingenious room-within-a-room solution: a bespoke wooden cube that functions as a soundproof meeting room with additional collaborative workspace above. "The generous ceiling heights allowed us to reclaim that overhead space and create an extra lounge area," architect Alexandra Kiendl explains. Acoustics were equally critical. The solution came via Troldtekt ceiling panels with integrated LED strips, maintaining the clean, minimalist design language throughout. The Gustavo Gusto team embraced their transformed workspace immediately. "We've created contemporary work environments with expanded seating, height-adjustable desks, and generous gathering spaces—but more importantly, we've given this dynamic brand a true office identity at its Geretsried headquarters," Kiendl reflects. The collaborative process with leadership proved equally seamless. "Working through intensive regular meetings felt effortless—we were always on the same wavelength," she adds. And of course, there was always fresh pizza on hand.
