The Cologne label Wood U? stands for furniture and practical home accessories

René Eich and Nicki Trimborn met in a workshop in Cologne, where René Eich trained as a carpenter and Nicki Trimborn worked in workshop management. After Eich's subsequent studies at the Cologne International School of Design, they both decided to set up their own label. They founded Wood U? in 2012. Since then, they have been designing and producing furniture and practical home accessories made of wood and concrete in their studio in Longerich. Their holders for iPads, tablets and smartphones are particularly popular at the moment. They allow you to work, surf or communicate from the comfort of your sofa - such as the Wood U? Chill: it offers a secure hold on soft surfaces. Positioned on the desk, it can also be used to work standing up without any problems. Wood U? Chill also works well as a bed tray for breakfast or as a convenient place to put a laptop. The Wood U? Style offers space for an iPad or tablet and is made of concrete with an integrated wooden strip. In addition to the holders, Eich and Trimborn also design and build customized furniture. This includes a custom-made bar cabinet: the bar is made of Richlite, the fronts of oak. The concept includes charging options for technical devices via built-in USB ports on the top panel. High-quality furniture linoleum was used for the surface design of the wardrobe. The design is characterized by a symmetrical layout and a backlit storage surface.
