Fine pleasure experiences
Dining becomes an experience at the elegant Cologne restaurant Maximilian Lorenz
Maximilian Lorenz has long been a household name in Cologne's top gastronomy. His exquisite cuisine has already delighted the palates of guests at L'Escalier and, since the move to the city center, the new restaurant now bears the unmistakable name of the star chef and patron himself: Maximilian Lorenz. Together with head chef Enrico Hirschfeld, he has been pursuing a consistent concept in the former Wein am Rhein premises for the past eight months, perfecting their new German flavor cuisine, which was immediately honored with another Michelin star. Rhine pebbles dusted with 4711 on the menu, for example, initially present guests with a riddle, the culinary solution to which is not long in coming ...
The rooms are unrecognizable after the renovation. The first impression is one of elegance and harmony, with casual and comfortable upholstered benches and chairs from Freifrau. The tables are set in a classic style, with nothing to distract from the stars of the restaurant, the food. These are preferably accompanied by matching German wines, but fine wines from other countries can also be found on the menu of the neighboring wine bar heinzhermann. If you want to be surprised with a menu from the creative top chefs, take a seat at the chef's table, which allows a maximum of twelve guests a direct view into the kitchen, which is only separated from the restaurant by a pane of glass. Above this special table is a ceiling construction decorated with gold leaf, which also visually emphasizes its importance.
