Refuge flooded with light
A detached house enhances its interior and exterior with new windows
This project involved an extensive window replacement, which not only turned the house into a light-flooded refuge from the inside, but also enhanced the architecture of the pointed gabled detached house from the 1950s. The work - from planning to installation - was carried out by window and door specialist Weiß & Weiß from Kirchheim near Munich.
Windows were installed in wood-aluminum flush on both sides, brushed on the inside and painted opaque beige-grey. Panorama lift and slide doors with an all-glass look were also installed and external venetian blinds with Z-slats fitted.
Windows with an all-glass look are something very special - here there is as much glass as possible with as few frames as possible - because the glass is fitted to cover the sash frame and much more light can penetrate into the rooms. The external venetian blinds with Z-slats combine practical benefits with modern design. They not only offer effective darkening, but also high stability in windy conditions. The Z-slats are made of a robust material that both blocks UV rays and regulates the amount of light entering the room.
